Aloe Vera is a plant belonging to the Lily family, known and utilized for several curative uses in Egypt beginning more than 5000 years ago. However, we must go back to 1935 to find the first scientific study concerning the curative properties of aloe carried out by the doctors E. and C. Collins. Their studies served as a basis for other more recent researchers who have performed research on the physiology and action mechanism of Aloe vera.

1959 was another key date for aloe, when the plant gained some medical respect:
the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), U.S. counterpart to the Spanish Ministry of Health, admitted in this year that aloe-based products had regenerative properties on tissue.
